Make Work, work for you by executing the following short list:

1) Sit in a quiet place for 2 mins – do nothing, just sit and breathe or sit and visually appreciate your surroundings – do nothing.

2) Pick up a piece of paper and a pen and draw a line that divides the paper in half and fold the paper in half with the line on the outside of the fold.

3) On one half of the paper, write down 5 things at the beginning of 2021 that you knew you wanted to do. Let’s call this List A.

4) Now flip the paper over and on the other half of the paper, write down 5 things you have actually done so far in 2021 that you are happy with or proud of, don’t look at List A, just write down 5 things you are proud of or happy with so far this year. Let’s call this List B.

5) Lastly, open up your paper such that you are looking at List A and List B and for each item on List A that did not make it to List B, write down WHY you did not achieve them or WHY you are not happy or proud of them.

For Work to work, for Work to be engaging and rewarding – you need to have direction and perspective that YOU create. If others set your goals for you, your Work load increases because now, not only do you have goals to achieve, you also have to achieve them to someone else’s expectations.

Ask yourself this question: “If I have 5 days to complete a task that I set for myself, do I feel the same pressure as if my boss, spouse, parent, child, friend, client, supplier gives me 5 days to complete the same task?”

Well, do you feel the same?
