Once you have executed the 5-step process, carry out step 6: TAKE ACTION on the WHY.

Be honest with yourself on all the WHYs you have. List them all, write them clearly. Then, take action.


6) Take action on why you did not achieve your goals or on why you are not happy or proud of your achievement at the end of the period.


WHY did you not achieve your goals? Did you “forget”; did time run out; did you lack skill, support, guidance; did other things “get in the way”?

WHY are you not happy or proud that you achieved your goal(s)? Did someone else execute your goal(s) “better” than you; did you only make it half way or part way in achieving your goal(s); did someone dismiss your goal(s) or achievement; did you have a change of mind on the importance of your goal/achievement such that it now seems “silly”, “simple” or “dull”? Evaluate your “happiness”


Now, TAKE ACTION: how will you ensure you don’t “forget”; how will you get the skill, etc., that you need; do you truly need to compare yourself with others, if yes what standards are you using and are they achievable for you; do you need to have that person’s validation, if yes what gives that person the qualities of a validator: have they achieved your goal, did they do it better than you, can they help you achieve your goal?


Once you have identified the actions to take, start to make the necessary changes and push forward.


For 2022, what goal(s) from the beginning of 2021 will you keep and what actions will you take to complete your goal(s)?


p.s. now that you have evaluated your “happiness”, are there any goals from the List A in your hand that should move to List B? 😊
